These came in the mail yesterday all the way from Israel from Etsy seller Schlomit . I really love so many of her designs and was really torn between the pair I bought and these. 
I just loved them both so but am really happy with my choice! Maybe I will have to become a repeat customer or maybe Greg will suprise me with these for my birthday (hint hint!). 
Anyway, they are really cute on and I also loved the adorable packaging. 
This seller has definietly invested in a little marketing.
I have not worn them yet to work but I like them a lot. I went with a small sized feather so that they wouldn't be over the top. I plan to put them into rotation next week. 
You can imagine they are very lightweight.
The best part is that I really wanted clear beads but the version she sold with clear beads was substantially more expensive. Even with my limited jewelery making knowledge I can easily swap out the beads for clear ones when I tire of the green beads. Love that added versitility. 
Sorry, Greg didn't get a good shot of these on. Of all the earrings I have shown, these are the only ones that are a tad on the heavy side and the post part that goes in the ear is very wide so they are a snug fit (which does feel a little odd).
These earrings are cute and earthy but mostly I liked getting them because I love to look at Tuscaloosa's site and plan items I want to make that copy her's (terrible I know!). 
I bought one of her rings at Christmas time so I could copy it for my family members but didn't get the time to complete my project. No photos of the ring so that there can still be surprises.
I love these little studs because they offer a little flash of color when my hair blows about. Turquoise goes great with brown too which I love to wear. They are made from vintage molded flowers. 
I have actually seen similar items including the plain flowers all over Etsy so feel free to shop around or even make your own. Glue an earing post to a couple and you can make these really cheaply.
This comes from seller Rachelle D and cost me $27. I have only worn it once so far since it only just arrived but it is another new favorite. Definitely bold but come on, so so cool. The little birds make it even cooler! 
It was a huge hit at work this week.
They reminded me of a pair I had seen around work on a co-worker. Very simple metal skeleton leaves (I picked up the matching necklace though I never wear them together on the same day). 
Very lightweight and earthy.
I LOVE this thing and wear it all the time. It is one of my current favorites. It is mother of pearl (not vegetarian, sorry!) and goes with almost anything. 
It gets a lot of comments at work too.
These hoops are rather large but very light weight and fun. A bit more funky than the "fish" earrings from yesterday. Again, hammered gold and probably easy and cheap to make. I need to do a little research on this technique I think!
These earrings even seem a little wild I admit but actually they blend in with my dark hair and only the bottom portion peeks out below my locks which helps tone them down a tad. 
They are are great conversation piece around the office and incredibly light weight for their size.
Hammering metals is something I would like to learn to do as I think it would come in really handy in jewelry making. For now, I'll just have to purchase it. This earring are so simple and so comfortable to wear. 
Throwing them in instantly makes my outfit look very put together in an understated way. These are from an Etsy seller named J.C. Jewelry Design and cost $20 (totally worth every penny but probably easy to make).
Another project I finished during my staycation was a long time coming. Over a year ago I picked up this fun orange floral print fabric from Joann's with the intention of making it into a spring/summer bag. I was going to attempt to produce my own pattern based on another bag I had that I liked a great deal. As you can imagine, that task is rather daunting so of course the project sat unfinished for over a year.
I also added a little reinforced (with fusible interfacing) brown fabric to the back of the handles to give them a little more strength.
I love the way this bag turned out. Even better than last time (sorry Marcela) and it really benefitted from being made out of a heavier upholstery weight fabric.

I have never actually sewn in a zipper before. In sewing years past I would always ask my mom to put in zippers and button holes for me because I was too lazy to learn how. Eventually my mom forced me to learn button holes (and even made me take notes on an index card!) but zippers we never did cover. When I bought the zippers in Seattle she gave me a brief description of what I would need to do to get them sewn in. This week I put on my thinking cap and tried to remember that conversation. At one point I had to get out my sewing machine manual to figiure out which foot was the zipper foot and how to move my needle position but eventually I figured it out. I don't think I actually did it quite like you are supposed to but I got it in and that is what counts! 
The pillows turned out really cute and couldn't have been easier to make. 
Not sure why I waited so long. Another big check off my list of projects I wanted to get done. (The faux bois candle is in the background. Also orange and from West Elm I think though I don't see it on their website)
We are still loving our soda machine and have 6 bottles in rotation pretty much all the time. The problem is the bottles all look the same. We have been using rubberbands to mark the sodas that are caffeine-free but other than that you have to go by your nose to tell if the contents are Dr. Pepper or Diet Cola, caffeine free cola or root beer. So I decided to make these bottle labels out of shrinky dinks. Unfortunately the printer didn't do a very good job of printing onto the shrink platic and they came out looking a little odd.
But no mind, they still serve their purpose. I can slip them on and off of bottles as we choose to make different sodas or seltzers and becuase they are made of shrink plastic they can get wet. 
I am so happy to cross this off my list of projects I have been meaning to complete!
I have to say the Wii is great for group socializing. We had Corey and Marie up from the basement for several hours of tennis and bowling.
Yep, that top score is me! Much better than I would have done at Bowlmor! The cool think about the Wii is we can hook it up to our wireless internet and surf the web using our TV as well as download games directly to the box. I of course opted to download classic games I loved from the original Nintendo system (lots of Super Mario!). Greg researched new games online we wants to buy and I am going to see if I can get them used at the video game store near my work.

Here is Greg in high school over at my house with his Mazda. I just can't get over how young he looks. Here he is just 16 years old. Such a baby face and always with the silly t-shirts. This one says Wickstrom Wackers which he thought was funny because he had a math teacher named Mr. Wickstrom who he TA'd for (not the same Wickstrom as the team sponsor, hence the hilarity). 
This was my all time favorite photo for many years. I used to have it framed. Greg was a boy scout and avid outdoorsman when we met. He very patiently introduced me to hiking and camping and this was a taken on a day hike up to an alpine lake. So pretty and such a good memory. And lastly, a little known fact about my husband. In college Greg won a Shaggy look-a-like contest at a local mall in Bellingham! Here he is waiting for the votes to be counted. I made that scooby snack box for him to use as a prop. Not sure why that accomplishment isn't included on his resume!
I love you Greg. Thanks for working up the nerve to ask me out in highschool all those years ago and for being such a fun guy! Happy Anniversary!
Real cute honey! This photo was taken while we were out to Sunday brunch with our home group. 
A group of people who all live in our neighborhood and also attend the same church. We went to one of our favorite little Mexican places in the neighborhood, De Mole. Our group of 13 almost filled the entire restaurant but they were very nice and accommodating. It was a lot of fun!
